Things We Want for Ourselves

I have a Mark/Lexie story on FF.net called Things We Want for Ourselves that has turned into this epic of a story and it has been much better received than I ever thought it would be. I have the loyal readers who review every chapter for me and let me know how much they love it and I could not be more grateful for them but... I think I am going to end the story now. I am working on chapter 28 at the moment and as soon as that chapter is done, it is going to be the last chapter. I had a lot of things planned for this story - Mark and Lexie adapting to being parents and adjusting their lives now for their baby but I have been getting the feeling for the last several chapters that interest has seriously dropped off in regards to this story and I get the feeling that people feel the story is just dragging on now with nothing much happening.

I have been getting some mean messages lately about how long the chapters are and that they are too long and difficult to read. There is too much detail in every chapter that deters from the story and for some reason, some have begun comparing this story to one that Caitlinlaurie is writing on the same site though my story has been written in advance to hers. Right now, I just feel that maybe it would be best to end the story before people grow even more harsh in their criticism. I love this story and that is what is important but it is difficult to continue a story that only a minute few seem to enjoy.
